Notices. f TIMA"RU BOROUGH COUNCIL. PUBLIC NOTICE. NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the above Council, duly convened, and held at the Council Chambers, Timaru, on MONDAY, the 28th day of November, 1898, the following resolution was adopted :— That this Council having duly considered the proposed new By-law No. 26, now before them, the object and purport whereof is to repeal Section 45 of By law No. 6, to fix the penalties for breaches of the said By-law No. 26, to provide for the ..icensing of all persons who shall sell or expose for sale any Milk within the Borough of Timaru and for the inspection of all Dairies by the Inspector therein mentioned and the granting of Certificates by the said Inspector as to the suitability and cleanliness of such Dairies and for the cancellation or suspension of such certificates ; and for prohibiting, within the Borough, the sale or exposure for sale of milk from any Dairy which is in a dirty condition or in a condition which is likely detrimentally to affect any milk coming therefrom or wherein the utensils and implements used therein or in connection with the sale of milk therefrom are in such condition or whereat any cow is fed or kept which is in an unhealthy condition or whereat any cow is milked by any person who has recently ■been suffering from any infectious disease or who has been in contact with any person so suffering, and to provide for prohibiting, within the Borough, the sale of diseased, unsound or unwholesome meat, poultry or other perishable provisions and to provide for prohibiting any person from permitting or causing any offensive liquid or other matter to flow or run from any land or other premises into or upon any street right-of-way footway channel or other place within the Borough, doth hereby resolve that the same be now adopted and that a special meeting of the Council be held on MONDAY the. 9th day of January 1899 at 8.30 o'clock; p.m., to confirm this resolution and that the said By-law No. 26 shall come into force on the 18th day of January 1899 passed by the Council of the Borough of Timaru this 28th day of November 1898. And Notice is hereby further given that a Special Meeting of the said Council will beheld atthe Council Chambers, Timaru, aforesaid, on MONDAY the 9th day of January, 1899, at 8.30 o'clock, p.m., to confirm this resolution, and that the said By-law No. 27, shall come into force on the 18th day of January, 1899, and that a copy of the proposed By-law No. 26, is now deposited at the Office of the said Council, George Street, Timaru, and is open for the inspection of the Public during office hours, viz:, from 9 o'clock, a.m., to 4 o'clock, p.m., except on SATURDAYS when the oifice hours are from 9 o'clock, a.m. to 1 o'clock p.m. Dated this 28 th day of Novembpr, 1898. . NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the above Council, duly convened, and held at the Council Chambers, Timaru, on Monday, the 28th day of November, 1898, the following resolution was adopted: — "THAT this Council having duly considered the proposed new Bylaw No. 27, now oh fore them, the object and purport whereof, so far as the North and South Suburban Wards of the Borough . of Timaru are concerned, are as follow :— To amend . section 7 of By-law No. 3 by providing that inflammable material may be deposited not lesw than thirty feet from any building street or private street;; To amend section 11 of By-law No. 3 by providing that fires may be lit in the open air but not after sundown without notice to the Captain of the Fire Brigade ; To amend section 13 of By-law No. 3 by providing that gorse fences are not to be planted in future in the North and South Suburban Wards but that the present fences shall be allowed to remain ; To amend By-law No. 6 by omitting therefrom Sections 46 and 47 ; To amend Section 26 of By-law No. 8 by providing that fares shall, in the absence of special agreement, be charged for by distance ; to amend By-law No. 11 by omitting therefrom section 4 ; and to amend section 3 of By-law No, 15 by providing that swine may, subject to certain conditions, be kept in the North and South Suburban Wards, and by providing that the said By-laws shall, as regards the other wards of the Borough, remain in full force and effect as originally ordained, and by providing that, subject as aforesaid, all existing By-laws of the said Borough shall remain in full force and effect, and shall (except where otherwise specially provided) apply to the whole Bdrough including the said North and South Suburban Wards : This Council doth hereby resolve that the same be now adopted, and that a special meeting of the Council be held on MONDAY, the 9th day of January 1899 at 8.30 o'clock, p.m., to confirm this resolution. And that the said By-law No. 27 shall come into force on the 18th day of January 1899. Passed by the Council of the Borough oi Timaru this 28th day of November 1898." Arid Notice is hereby further given that a Special Meeting of the said Council will be held at the Council Chambers at Timaru aforesaid on MONDAY, the 9th day of J.anuary, 1899, at 8.30 o'clock p.m., to confirm this resolution. And that fche said By-law No. ,27 shall come into force on Ui^ 18th day of JANUARY,, 1899. And that a copy of the proposed By-law No. 28 is now deposited at the office of the said Council, George Street, Timaru, and is open for the inspection of the public during office hours, viz., from 9 o'clock a.m., to 4 o'clock, p.m., except Saturdays when the office hours are from 9 o'clock, a.m., to 1 o'clock, p.m. Dated this 28th day of November, 1898 EDWIN H*.
