CITY RIFLES. Thirty members of the City Rifles fired for Messrs J. G. Cowan's and G. Pearson's (lsj prizes), and Mr O. B. Eichbaum's (2nd prize), on Monday evening, at 300 yds, when some very close shooting resulted. Bugler Boys proved the winner, and Private Walker wins the 2nd prize. The following are the highest scores :— 300 yds hep Tl Bugler Boys 38 3 41 Private Walker 39 — 39 Sergeant Boys 39 — 39 Private Robertson ... 38 — 38 Corporal Brown 38 — 38 Private Dalgleish ... 34 4 38 Corporal Byrne 37 — 37 Private Finnic 29 6 35 Private Currie 29 6 35 Private Christmas ... 28 7 35 The following team will represent the City Rifles m their match with the Waimate Rifles on Friday next, the 16th inst. :— Captain Gillies, Sergeant Boys, Corporals Stevenson and Brown, Privates Walker, Boys, Whitton, North, Shaw and Robertson ; emergency, Bugler Boys.
