COMMERCIAL.
Messrs Guinness and LeCfen report holding a clearing sale of live and. dead stock on account of Mr Robert Mackay, at Trentham. There was a large attendance and everythine sold at very satis-' factory prices, as follows :—Three-quar-ter-bred hoggets m the wool 12s 3d, halfbred full and broken-mouthed ewes, with lambs at. foot, all couuted, up to 7s. Horses, cattle and sundries brought full rates.— At Winchester on Thursday they held a sale of old bridge timber on account of Geraldine County Council. The result was satisfactory, every lot finding buyers at good prices. At Messrs Friedlander Bros., limited, mart, Asbburton, on Thursday, useful harness horses brought satisfactory prices. The attendance was large, and the following prices were noted :— Draught, horses, really good sorts, £32 to £38 10a, medium £26 to £30, harness horses, guaranteed sound and quiet, up to £18 10s.
