THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 29. A deputation from the Women's Council waited upon the Minister of Education and asked that the Government would vote £100 each for the four centres to a lady to look after neglected children in terms of the resolution passed by the Council. Mr Walker said that be would refer the matter to the Cabinet and would take the proposal into serious consideration. He expressed surprise that the women had not before now pressed their claims to be represented on Charitable Aid Boards, etc. Personally he waa favourable to the suggestion. The deputation also saw the Minister of Justice and submitted the same proposal, etc.
