+_ The Washdykesale on Thursday was a very good one, and being the first held for some considerable time created a good deal of interest. There was a good yarding of sheep, the prices realised being— fat ewes 10s 3d, store 2-tooths 8s 6d, lambs 6s 6d, old broken-mouthed ewes 38 to 4s 6d. At Makikihi yesterday the sale was a very good one, but the yarding was small, and a much heavier entry could have been disposed of. Forward 2-tooth crossbreds sold at 9s 7d, and a few other small lots changed hands. As feed is more plentiful now the auctioneers anticipate that the revival of business shown at recent sales will continue. : The Canterbury Farmers' Cooperative Association, limited s report as follows : Wheat.— We have again to report light offerings for the week. There is no speculation m the market, and what little business has been done has been for millers' immediate requirements. Prices for wheat m good condition have been well maintained, but anything m poor order is absolutely neglected. Present values are ;— Red chaff and tuscan, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; velvet and pearl, up to 3s lid. Oats,— So far very few have been marketed and m many of the districts the yield is so light that farmers are having to buy for their winter wants, consequently prices are firm with a tendency to harden. Duns and Danish are worth Is 9d to Is lOd, while good short are worth Id to 2d more. Barley.— The bulk of samples shown are very thin and will command but little better than feed price. Sales have been made at 3s 6d to 3s 8d for good malting, 3s to 3s 4d for medium, while feed is neglected at 2s to 2s 4d.
