FEDERAL CONVENTION ELECTIONS.
Pbb Electric Telegraph— Copybight, Peb Pbess Association. Sydney, March S. Polling day for the Federal elec* tions yesterday was observed as a holiday. The elections passed off quietly throughout the colony. The latest returns show that the following are the leading candidates :— Messrs Barton, Carruthers, McMillan, Eeid, Lyne, E. E. O'Connor, Sir J. Abbott, Messrs Walker and Wise, the last two having replaced Messrs Oopeland and See as further returns come m. About 140 small returns are still to come m, but it is almost certain that Cardinal Moran has little chance of being included among the ten. Melbourne, March 5. The following ten will probably be elected :— The Premier, Dr Quick, Messrs Peacock, Isaacs, Deakin, Trenwith, Sir Graham Berry, Mr Fraser, Sir William Zeal, and Mr Higgins. Hobabt, March 5. The Federal election returns are m« complete. The following are leading :— Sir Phillip Fysh, Sir E. Braddbn, Messrs Henry Lewis, Dobson, Brown, Grant, Clarke, Moore, and Collins. Mr Douglas replaces Mr Collins among the successful Federal candidates. Adelaide, March 6. The Federal elections take place tomorrow.
