Quite a busy scene is to be observed on the Caledonian Grounds between tin hours of 6.30 and 8 p.m. every riay Training for the Tourists' Cycling Sportf is now in full swing, and a large numbei of onlookers visit the track to witnesi the efforts of the various competitors Donn is showing spleudid form and wil no doubt show up to advantage in tin Championship Kace, as he is in raucl better condition this year than last G. E. T. Hall, the South Canlerburj veteran, is riding ,an Osmond racing machine, and is expected to ride bettej this year than on any former occasion but he will have to keop his eye or Donn. The Novice Race promises to be more interesting and exciting than il haßbeen for years past ; thejuuiorriden showing promising form, especially W Kail and D. Donn, who are making theii first appearance on the track. W. Lane having won the first prize in a road race to Arowhenua and back, cannot on thai account start in the Novice Race, but he will show upin the roadster events. He has a good position on his machine anc pedalsstrongly.McKnighthasbeen train ing for some weeks but I have not se«»r his sprinting form. Jowsf*y goes in foi too much sprinting, and would .do bettei to settle down to longer distances, doinj solid work. .Other riders training ar( Furby aud JNYlson, but I have not seer them extended. Whittakerand Burford two enthusiastic old battlers, areagair to the front.
