A social was held m the Pakihi schoolroom on Friday evening last m aid of the school funds. The room was prettily decorated, and the trouble the committee took for the comfort and convenience of visitors was well repaid by the large attendance and the manifestly happy time spent by all. Music was supplied by Messrs Cadwallader, Irwin, and Glanville, and Mr Doroard made an efficient M.C. The musical items contributed during the evening were "Nancy Lee" and " They All Love Jack " by Mr Glanville, "Look Back," "Killarney," and "Jessie, the Flower of Dunblane" byi Mr Irwin, and " Sweet Marie," by Miss May. Refreshments were handed round during the evening, and the ladies who had charge of this department deserve special praise for the manner m which they worked. At, the conclusion a vote of thanks was passed to all those who had assisted m making the social the success it proved. The committee are much indebted to Mr J. Airey who kindly lent his piano for the occasion.
