Timaru Herald Office, Friday Evening. The grain market has steadied down this week, but prices have remained unaltered. Quotations are as follows: — Wheat all sorts, mixed samples, farmers' lots, 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; fowl wheat, 3s to 3s 3d ; milling and Danish oats, Is 4d to Is sd. Flour £9 per ton, sack basis at mills or f.o.b m quantity ; bran, 50s to 555 ; pollard, 80s. At the St. Andrews yards on Thursday there was a very fair sale, every line being quitted. The total entry was about 1200. Three-quarter-bred store 2tooths realised from 6s 6d to 8s Id ; halfbred (small and not very good), 4s 6d to 5s 6d ; 4 and 6-tooth ewes (low m condition), 6s ; best store lambs 6s 6d, 7s to 7s 3d ; halfbred lambs, 3s to 4s Id. The one cow sold realised £5 15s. Mr J. Mundell reports that he conducted a special horse saie at Geraldine on Thursday. A few farm horses were offered, the bulk of the entry being made up of hackneys and light harness horses, for which there was a limited demand. Prices for light harness horses were £6 to £7 10s, hackneys £3 to £5.
