The total quantity of wheat- and flour afloat for the United Kingdom i 3,880,000 quarters, and for the Continent, 1,650,000 quarters. A cargo of South Australian wheat per barque Glenbank, sold at 26s 6d. The butter market is rather firmer. The sheep by the Morayshire brought 5f d. Those by the Woolloomooloo were considered too old and realised prices ranging fromoid to 6d. The Investors' Revieiv points out that within fourteen months the prospectuses have been issued of seventy-five mines in Western Australia, and that the total capital of sixty-four oi them exceeds £8,000,000. Many of them are without any prospects of paying, and three failures have been already recorded. It is not a hopeful start. Mr Vagg is leaving for Melbourne and Mr Heniy Reynolds for New Zealand, in order to explain the scheme of each firm to sell all Australian butter weekly • by auction. Mr Vagg also suggests that a central store should be erected. Adelaide, June 6. The new local loan of £311,000 at 3£ per cent, issued at par, has been floated with great success. The amount entered was £719,000. Fifty-seven tenders were received for the loan, besides six which were too late. The largest was from the Adelaide Savings Bank, covering the full amount, and it only receives £89,000. All the applications will be allotted in full up to the first £20,000; beyond that they will get one-quarter. Sydney, June 6. \ An easier tone prevailed in the silver ! share market to-day, and prices gener- , ally declined. Centrals sold at Is 9d lower. The Sydney Morning Herald says tha^ "with the details of the New Zealand loan before us the first issue of 3 percent. Australasian stock must be pronounced a success."
