MAGISTERIAL.
"WAlMATE— Thursday, January 17th. (Before Major Keddell, S.M.") In a previously heard case against Mrs KLett, for keeping open a billiard room on her licensed premises after closing hours, the Magistrate dismissed the information. Mr Hamilton appeared for defendant. Kenneth McLennan was charged with dragging a net m the Waihao river, and with "fishing without a license. The evidence having been heard, the defendant was fined 5s and 11s costs on the first charge, and 5s and 7s costs on the second. Mrs Dodd was charged with having assaulted Henry Thomas t by throwing a stone at him. The evidence showed that the offence had been committed, and defendant was fined 10s and costs) and bound over to keep the peace. Kerr and Co. v. J. Tasker, claim £8 2s Id on an 1.0.TJ. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs. George Luck v. John Henry Luck, claim £49 10s for allowance under an agreement made by defendant. A setoff of about £70 for grazing hoi-ses and cattle and for board and lodging was put m by defendant. * Several witnesses were examined, after which the Magistrate reserved his decision.
