AN- ELECTRICAL STORM.
(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON^ Januai-y 17. Captain Killam, of the barque Star of the Eag.t, reports having experienced a most unusual aerial disturbance on the morning of the Bth January when about 110 miles off Cape Campbell. The morning^was beautifully clear and not a cloud coula tie seen anywliere. After a few. flashes of lightning which promoted the captain to shorten sail as quickly as possible, the vessel found herself m the centre of some extraordinary electrical disturbance wliich lasted about 2k houVs. The vessel's head went to all points of the compass and at times she was carried round . m a circle as if m a whirlwind. Captain Killam says that he. ne.yer had such | an experience during the thirty yearsilie has been at sea.
