LAND FOR SETTLEMENT AT OAMARU.
(By Telegraph.) OAMARU, January 11. A public meeting was held to-night at which it was. decided to wait on the Minister of Lands as he passed through Oamaru, and urge upon him the desireableness of opening up land for settlement near Oamaru. The Ardgowan Estate was mentioned as the most desirable. It contains between four and five thousand acres, and lies close to the town.
