A district of 160 square miles baa been proclaimed under the Peace Aot, including the towns of Hughenden, Winton, and Muttabarra, but omitting Longreach and Aramao, and a raagiatrate fiaa been appointed whose duty it will be to maintain order and prevent distress among the strikers, finding employment for them wherever possible.
