Mr J B Milsom'e application ,'o have Mrs Mileom's name placed on the roll for property the had purchased, was granted. Two tenders were opened for kerbiog and channelling Steward Street, namely, J McKenzie £47 16s 6J,and J Ansel! £58. Tbe tender of the former was accepted. Tenders for the new Council Chambers were opened as fallows :-H Bateman, £577; A Philip, £581 ; J MoKensie, £638 j B Hewitt, £709 ; and D Watts, £238 (oarpenter only). —After considering the whole and separate tenders the Oounoil resolved to accept Batsman's tender of £351 for brickwork, and D Watts' at £238 for the oarpsnter work. The clerk was instructed to make, a oopy of the plan and specifications and to obII for applications for the position of clerk of works. Tbe following ennmittees were elected for the ensuing year :— Works — Councillors Cameron, Inkster and Petit ; finanoe— Smith, Coliett and N col ; reserve— Oosgrave, Evans and Jones.
