The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Vublic Trust Office Act, 1872," haa been since much enlargod iu its functions by amouding Acts, to meet growing requirements. Tho Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at the discretion of the I'ublic Trustee, aud insures the regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of tbePub. lie Trustee's administration must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating tho appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of tho Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed in the Public Trust Office, a nnmmon rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is in the Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in investment, aud for the regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. In tho appointment of Trustees there must always be seriOUS concern as to the security of the capital funds: and the larger tho capital fdiuls the greatex .nust be the concern for security, and the less for a high rate of in-toi-est. The Public Trustee cannot die, rnnnot Icavo tile colony, cannot become disqualified, or involved in private difficulties; and cannot be distrusted. In private trusteeships, death and absence render necessary numerous and expensive dceilß not required by Public Trustee's administration, which has, besides, tho office solicitor's advice without expenso to the estates. By all who know or have experienced tho contingencies of private trusteeships these advantages must be appreciated.
