Mahoney, D. Maclean, J. Melton, J. Moiklc, O. H. Orbell, W. Priest, P. Simmons, J. W. White. Judge— B. T. Rhodes. Starter A. G-. Oox. Ol«rk of Scales— W. Priest. Clerk of Course— F. Simmoai. Hon. Treasurer- J. A. Gracio. Hondioapper— 9. Dowie (Dunedin). Timekeeper —W. S. Lindsay. Though the morniog broka rather threatening looking and heavy clouds hung about, tho weather clean 'd up at noon, but the promise of a fine afternoon was not fulfilled ; iho air being very raw and cold, with fog hanging about. Tho attendance under the circumstances was Trry fair, and matters were kopt going well up to time throughout. Mr B. X. Kbodep itsi m the' judgii's box and Mr A. G. Cos wielded the dig, Mr Guinness being unable to attend. Tho other officials also did excellent work, and the day's sport was brought to an early close, compared with many previous meetings. Wa may add that among tho visitors ou tho first day were the members of Wills' Surprise, Party j while yesterday Will P. Wallace, tbo proprietor of tbo Party, and Miss Ootavia wero noticed on the lawn ; which to many prosont looked liko Sydney qr Melbourne futhinn. Uho card was tiokod off with the Hurdle Race, which was again won m gallant style by Mr Mahoney's Smuggler, who discarded all leading after he had gone the first half mile. Young Oheviot got another bracket, m t.ho Glarisloue Handicap, and there is no doubt but. that Mr K. Healoy had him very fit. In the Disposal States, the st?rt was a wretched one, Kraud Rotting left, and Bothumetead, the favourite, won easily. Tho Handicap was a splendid race, Liberator juot lasting long enough to bo able to win with very little to spare, and Prime Warden, with all his steadier, coming with groat dash, when it was seen that tbo St. Goorgo colt could not get up. It was a pity the effort was mado co late. In the Bracelet Gillie, whoso 'air nominator resides at Ashbutton, did a splendid performance. Ha waa ridden very well all through, 'and coming again with great speed at (he right time, quickly net all doubt at rest. The Members' Plate resulted m another favourite getting placed, for Roseleaf could not live with Young Gbevoit m the run home. The Final Handicap appropriately wound up the meeting with a win for tho Messrs Hobbs, Prime Wardon giving Wayland a thorough drubbing. Taken all round the racing yesterday was not so interesting aa on the first day, but there is no question that the struggle for the most valuable handicap was a Orst-class oue. The sum of £1465 went through the raacbino ; or £708 less than on tho second day lost year ; the total deficiency on the meetine, oomparod wilh 1891, being £IGSI.
