FIRES.

(By Telegraph.) BLENHEIM, Sept. 16. A firo occurred at twenty minutes to flvo this morning, originating m ChittendonV tobacconist shop, and spreading to Madden*, fruiterer, and Qoold'o, (jvilor. OhiUenden's was completely burnt out, the others gutted, and littlo waa caved. Madden and Goold wore uninsured ; the building insurances are not known. Orjttr.3TOHT7R.OH, Szvi. 16. A fire broke out about midnight, m anew two Btoroy brick building m Cathedr.il Square, belonging to E. W. Hopor and Co., wine ami spirit merchants. 'The, fire broke out m ono of the bnck rooms of tho upper floor, but tho body of the fire was situated m a largo storo on tbe ground floor. Fortunaloly there was a plentiful supply of wnter at hind, and the fira was complotoly subdund m half an hour. It is not known how tbe firo originated. The firm's books and pnperß were recovered, also a valuable framed collection of old Btamps. Mr Cohen, solicitor, occupied rooms upstairs, but nothing was damaged, Ooneidorablo damage was done to Boper's stock. Insurances - building, £5C9 ; Boper and Co.'s stock, £ic:3, all m tho Allianca Office. The firm will be considerable losers. While tho fire brigade were engaged at Kopor's fire, another alarm wan givon which proved to bs a store and dwelling house at tfydenham, belonging to P. McGarva. The building was entirely destroyed. A fire left burning io the kitchen when the occupant! went to bod, probably accounts for its origin, T.ATBB. Boper's insurance on the stock was £1500. MoGarva's building was insured m tho North British for £200, and Buobanan, occupier of the grocery store, £150 m tbe same ofllOß
