Timaru Herald Office, Thursday evening. AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. Messrs J.B. Rutland and Co., auctioneers, etc., report business for the week ending Saturday, 11th inst., as brisk. Oa tbe 9th they held nn extensive sale of Mr James Brace's effects, the attendance being large and high prico3 tho order of the day. At their usual Saturday's auction the attendance was crowded as usual and good prioes roalised. Purebred rooster 3 were sold from 5s to 10s each, hens Is 6d to 2s 3d, roosters 2s 3d to 3s 3d, ducks 3s to 3s 3d, geese 2s each, turkeys (hens) 2s Gd to 3s each. Pigs— Small lines are difficult to move at more than averaga rates, but nice little porkers sell freely at 10s to 15s each. Pork — A ton or moire was cleared at 2id. 2Jd, 3d, and 3id, according to quality. Hares — 115 were sold at Is eaoh, rabbits at Is 6d to Is 9d per pair. The demand for hares, fowls, geese, etc., is unprecedented, ond they can clear any quantity. Tho usual large colleotion o£ furniture, saddlery, ironmongery, and sundries sold lite ripe cherries.
