Tho pas.ionger train was i slationary at Burn«ide, but the driver, having hin attention drawn to the moving trucks, immediately backed his engine, but before ho could go nny di9tanco the van collided with tho eusir.e with terrific force The passenger train being m motion minimised tbo force of the collision. Tbe eDgine buffer was broken and the van much damaged but no one was hurt.
