In the House of Commons to-day Mr Goschen formally moved that Mr de Cobain be Bummoned to attend m his place. (Raooivea 1.10 a.m., Jnly 15th.) July 14. The Marquis of Waterford has given notice of motion to enquire whether the Government will create a Department of Agriculture for Ireland. (Per Press Association.) (Eeceived 1.45 a.m., July 15th. London, July 14. An animated debate took place iv the House of Commons last night on the question of the amount to be contributed for defence by Singapore. A number of members urged the reduction of the aum, but Mr Goßchen and Mr Stanhope contended that Singapore was fairly treated, and the rsduction was negatived.
