) * \ (By Telkgbaeh) E INVEROARGILL, Jusb 16. ' Tho Supremo Court session opened before j Judge Williams this morning. The Grand I Jury found true bills m all cases. Francis ! Hodges pleaded guilty to larceny of money belonging to a servant girl, and was admitted ' to twelve months' probation and ordered to ; pay a portion of tho costs of the prosecution. John Sutherland for larceny from shop doors, \ was sentenced to six months* imprisonment, cumulative"'^ a simiiat term given m tho Police Court. The prisoner had been considered a respeotablo man, but was proved to have been systematically visiting the town for the purpose of shoplifting. Daniel Henry, indicted for larceny as the bailee of £8, was acquitted on a law point- The case was a very peculiar one, counsel engaged stating thit they had been unable to find an analogous one m the law books. The Bhoep-stealing oaee against Timothy Regan wi'l bo taken to-morrow: There is a|heavy civil list, including a breach of promise ana two divorce suits.
