Mr Raymond appeared for accusod and pleaded not guilty. The information alleged that on tho dato mentioned two porsons of bad character, George Maslin and Carrie Hopa were on the promises. Sergeant-Major Mason in opening the case however, mentioned several others, whereupon Mr Baymond objected that evidence ought not to be given respecting any other persons than those named in tho information. Mr Raymond suid tho caso as to these two could be easily disposed of, as they were both in defendant's employment, on tho data given.
