Sydney, Juno 11, A later telegram from Bellinger Heads states that the creiv of the wrecked schooner Venus were not rescued by the pilot crew aa first supposed, but that the rescue party comprised, a crew from the stranded Bteamers Avon and Fernmount. It was only with the greatest difficulty that the rescue was effected, and the Venus's crew were very much exhausted from their long exposnre iv the rigging of the disabled vessel. THE MANAPOURI. Melbourne, June 11. Sailed — Manapouri, for New Zealand. CERTIFICATE SUSPENDED. The certificate of Captain Chapman, of the American ship Joseph Scammell, wrecked near Cape Otway on May 18th, has bean suspended for twelve months. SMALLPOX. Owing to the prevalence of smallpox at Mauritius,the Health Department havedeclared it to bs an infecied port, and all vessels arriving from there will be placed m quarantine. NO CONFIDENCE. The Government have decided to support the Antarctic expedition, aud a buiu of £3000 has been placed on the estimates for that purpose.
