In the House of Commons to-day Sir Michael Hicka Beach, President of the Board of Trade, stated that the question of further legislative powers being given to restrict the influx of foreign immigrante to England had engaged the serions attention of the Government, but it wat doubtful if any practical good would result from action being taken.
