THE RAILWAYS.
■ (By Tblbgeafh.) WBLLINSTON, Sept. 1. A deputation of M.H.Ba. waited on the Hailway Commissioners this morning. Present,— Messrs Ward, Rhodes, JTitchett, Buzton, J. and T. MoKenzie, ate ward, Perceval, Brown, Hall, Duncia, Wntket, Vorrall, Feldwiok, and Marchanfc. The principal subjects brought under the notice of the Commissioners wore private railway eidiDga, reduction of chargea on conveyance of stock, lime, bales, bags, white pine timber and Ore wood, carnage of grain for short distances, tickets for school children, alteration m hours of running tho express botween Chrißtchuroh and Dunedin, and Btoppaga at more Btatione. Thero was considerable discussion on some points, particularly tho eurriueo of stock and alteration m tho eoutrurn express. 'Jhe Commissioners will take tho suggestions into consideration.
