THE AUCKLAND WINTER MEETING. (Br Teleorapjj.i AUCKLAND. Junb 8. The Auckland Winter Meeting was held to-day. There was fine weather, and about 2000 people were present. The going was heavy, the result of the recent rain. The following are details of the racing : — Btjsdlb Race ; 2 mile*. Donald, lOsfclllb (Rae) 1 Jenny. lOst 81b 2 Parnell, Oil 81b 3 Two others started. Won easily by two : longths. i Time — 4min. Dividends— £2 9» 6d and £2 6b. Maiden Steeplechase ; about 2\ miles. Tffune, lOst 121 b (Oroll) 1 Neck or Nothing, list 131 b ... (Hadford) 2 Eight horses started. Dick Turpin, who led for a long distance, baulked during the last round, leaving Huno to win easily. Neck or Nothing was the only other horse to finish. Time — 4mtn 24seo. ; Dividends— £2 1*« and £2 6t.

To Kooti took the lead m tho cutting, ond hold it to the finish, winning by half a length. Time — 2min 9sec. Dividends-£l'l 14b and £11 16s 6d. * Great Northern Stkeplbohasb j about > 3i miles. ; Mr W. Barnard's Jenny, lOst 31b (Johnston) 1 ' MrO. McEl wain's Auckland, lOst 31b ' (Cameron) 2 Mr G. Wright's Orlando, lOst 121 b I (Trewin) 3 The other starters were Orangeman, Kangaroo, and Parnell. Auokland and Orangeman were the favourites. Parnell led for half a mile, when Jenny took the lead going up hill and was never afterwards headed. She had two lengths advantage of Parnell at the water jump opposite the stand ; Orangeman fifteen lengths away third, and Orlando, Auckland, and Kangaroo next m the order named. These were the positions until at the otono wall at the bottom of tbe hill tho second timo round Parnoll fell leaving Jenny with a fifteen lengths lend of Orangeman. Passing the stand Auckland began to improve his position and was second aa they filed round tha back of the course, but Jenny could not bo caught, and coming down hill and into the straight with a thirty lengths' lead she won by that distance. Time— Bmin 55soc. Dividends— £lo 3s and £10 6s. Sellins Stbbplbohahh. Jim, 9st3lb 1 Beating fire others. Dividends— £B 16s 6d and £11. Ladies' Bbaoblkt ; 1 mile.
