Timaru Herald Office, Monday evening. AUCTIONEERS 1 EEPOET. Messrs J. Mgndell and Co., report sales for the week ended May 10th, 1890, as follows : — At tho Geraldine live stook market on'Wodnesday, there was a moderate entry of cattle Rnd sheep, which mot with really good competition, every lot being sold at prices considerably m advance of those lately ruling. The nnmbofs yarded were 7465 sheep, 41 head of cattlo, and 32 pigs. Our quotations for the day are :— SHEEP. Cro3sbred wethers and maiden ev?C3 2 and 4-tooA fat 16a, 143 7d, to 14a 6d, crossbred wethers and maiden ewes (storC3) 12a 3d, 12a, to 10a, three-quarter-bred lambs (a good lino) 10s, 9a Gd, to 7s Bd, crossbred ewe 3 (aoond) 9a sd, 8s 6d, to 83, onlls 03, 43 6d, to is, merino wethers and ewe 3 2-tooths 5s 5d to 53 4d, call merino 3 Is 8d to Is Gd. CATTLE. 3-year-old steers £3 2a Gd to £Z, fat cows .£3 ; no Bales to quote m yearlings. PIGS. Porkers .£1 3s 6d to £1, stores 103, 9a Gd, to 9s. PROPERTY. In conjunction with the N.Z.L. and M.A. Co., we submitted to auction, on account of Mr J. M. Greenaway, his valuable freehold property, and succeeded m selling the whole estate, with tho exception of two allotments. Prices realised for the lots sold wero :— Lot 5, 109 acre 3, to Mr Jamss Anstin at £18 per acre; lot 2, 234J acres, to Mr P. H. McShane.at JEI6 15a per acre ; lot 3, 31 acres, to Mr William Payne, at Xl 6 per ncre ; lot G, 20 Section Bnsh m Peel Forest, to Mr C. G. Tripp, at £i 10* per acre, every lot being eagerly competed for.
