At the annual meeting of tho Acclimatisation Sociely to-night 2CO membsrs were present. The Hon. J. T. Peacock presided. T'ue report cf tho council stated that the year began with a liability of £190. Owing to the revival of public support this had been paid. SS.OOO fish sere distributed during the year —receipts £705, expenses £633. There is come antagonism between old members and anqlera who litoly joined the society m large numbers. An amendment wa3 moved that the report be referred bicli to tho council m members htd not seen it. Jlr Peacrct explained that it had been prop-jrotl by the 1 secretary and himsi-li m accordance with tiie u«ual custom. The p.mehnmont was negatived only five voting for it. The report wa3 adopted.
