Tho captain promptly notified tho disastor to tbo Admiralty iv a dispatch worded as follows: — "My Lords, I regret to have to inform your lordships that H.M.B. , while leaving the harbour, collided with another vossol ; and hor bowsprit has been carried away. Awaiting instructions from your lordships, I have tho honour tc romain," ic. Promptly came an Admiralty wire m reply : — " Report who carried away bowspri ', ond where it has boen placed."
