TO TUB BDITOB OV TUX TJMAHU HERALD. fci B| Allow me to correct an error occurring in tbe la«t issue of your paper. What I said during tho discussion on the Cave school was " that I was not opposed to a school at the Cave. Dor was I opposed to a school at sutherUnds, but that in the interests of economy, and especially where all the children c-ncerned could be well provided for otherwise, I obj-ded to two schools within a distance of 4 or 5 mi'es with a railway at their door and a free pars." i may also say that I was not the only member of the board wh<> did not vote— two others, at least, acted simila'ly. No odo will be more gratified than myeelf at seeing both schools flourish — if they do. 1 am, 4c , Geobob Babcla;. .November 2nd, 1888.
