DETECTIVES AT WORK.
(By Telrukaph.) Di NEDIN, v ov. 1. Detective 1 ) Henderson and Madden have arrested a man who is helie<ed to havn committed a number of burglaries in Christchurch nbout two months ago. Some during burglaries had been committed hero, and in attempting to trace tho goods they found that some- napkin rings and other articles sold hero hy inu'H'in corresponded with tl>o?o taken in Chrislchuroh. Aftnr some trouble they traond the supposed seller, who had given his name as Thomas Qlcson, but on searching the room he occupied during his absence no moro good" were. found. He was wa'ched, a' d on leaving fur tho South it was found he bad added greatly to hi- luiigige. Detective Madden followed him. and on searching his luggage most, of th« proceeds of the burglxries at Duncdin nrro found, so he arrested his man at Invercargill.
