Reitorated complaints coma from the Broken Hill township, whera there aro now nearly 10,000 people, of neglect on the part of tha Govornment, who are accused of throwing all trade into tho Victorian and South Australian banks. Tho streets of the township are constantly thronged with people, and vast sums of money chango hands daily. Stock oxchange;! aro conducted m tho opon air, at the street corners. It is oxpected that by the end of the yoar tho population will have increased to 20,000 and so good are tho prospects of tho principal mines that it is assorted that fifty years work i 9 m Bight. Throo daily papers are publishod. A water supply schemo is contemplated to bring water to the town from the Darling River sixty miles away. Soveral mines, besides tho Broken Hill proprietary Company's aro now getting first rate ore. Tho main lodo hna been proved to exist for a distance of t«n miles, but tho full extent of the lode is now known to run a distance of twenty miles. Ltrgo numbers of frosh companies aro to be organised to take up leases m tho neighbourhood, soveral rich deposits having boon discovered m tho other directions. Tho tin mines continue to attract attention, and considerable capital is being invested m them.
