NAVAL DEFENCE. Lord Brassey has written to tbe Argus commenting on the unsatisfactory condition of the Australian squadron. He suggests that the Imperial Government should send four ironclads to be permanently stationed m Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobavt, and Wellington. BRILLIANT GATHERING.
