GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
• On Wednesday evening last tho members of the Geraldino School Committee held their monthly meetiDgin the schoolroom. Present — Messrs JS".Dunlop (chairman), C. E. Sherratt, W. Shiera, T. Farrell, 11. 3. Cook, Cunninghan, nnd G. Ward. The minutes of the previous mooting ivere read and confirmed. Letters were rend from the Board of Kducation, to the effect that £12 8s had been placed to credit of the committee on iccoinit of incidentals ; also, asking for information as to what holidays wero given to the children for the purpose of issisting the Inspector m fixing tho dates of his visits to the school. Tho secretary (Mr Cunninghan) was requested to reply that three vreeks wero granted at christmas, two weeks at Easter md two weeks at mid-winter. The head-master's report for the past Four weeks was read, giving the average iveckly roll attendance at, hoys, 127; skirls, 115 ; total, 242. Average attendance, boys, 101.5; girls, 98.8, total 194.3. Highest attendance, boys, 110; girls, 104, total, 214. The VisitingCommittoo reportcdhaving accepted the tender of Mr G. Kruse, for repairs to, and paiuting of the master's residence. The action of the committeo was approved of. It was decided to draw a progress payment for £0 m favour of Mr Kruse, to be held by the chairman till the Visiting Committee saw that the work progressed sufficiently for them to grant an order for its payment. Accounts amounting to £5 19s 6d were passed for payment. An account of 16s 9d from Messrs P. W. Hutton and Co. was held over for payment till next meeting. The visitors for the month reported having found everything working satisfactorily at tho school. Messrs Ward, Shiers and Cook, were appointed a Visiting Committee for the ensuing month, and were requestod to have the front gate raised and properly hung. The meeting then terminated.
