SUPREME COURT.
(By Telegraph. ) New Ply.modtu, Nov. 1. In tho Divorce Court a decreo absolute was granted in the case Hickman v. Hickman and Ravenhill. The sitting of the Supremo Court was then brought to a close. Wellington, Not. 1. At the Supremo Court thiß morning, William E. Marsden, who was convicted at last sittings of the Supreme Court and remanded, in order to allow the probation officer to make a report, was brought up this morning. The report was unfavorable. The Chief Justice sentenced him to twelve months' imprisonment. Chkistchuech, Nov. 1. The Supremo Court was occupied all day in hearing a civil action, in which £500 damages wwe Bought by a lad named
James O'Snllivan, from his tinj l.yers, Messrs Hale, Throp and Co., twine maimfiictuivrs. The plaintiff had lost the fingers of his right hand, which was crushed m ono of "the machines through, the negligcnco of another of Messrs Hale, Throp and Co.'s workmen. The jury found for the plaintiff, damages £200.
