PRIZES amounting, to about £550 will be given m Pieces of I lute, Medals or Cash ; also tho following additional prizes : — A Challenge Cup, value 40 Guineas will be piven by the members nnd friends of the Association to the lnrgcst prize-taker m breeding btjck — Sheep, Cuttle and Horses. Vice-President, Mr G. H. Rhodes, gives a cup, viilue £10, for the best horse that has hunted with any recognised pack. The same to be entered m either class 151 or 152. The Hunt Clubs of South Canterbury give a prize of £5 Hi for the best Light-weight Hunter. Mr F. l.cCren, on behalf of the Yi.7i. L. nnd M.A. Company, offers a Cup of the value £10 10s, for the beat pen of not less than twenty (20) Sheep m the wool, suitable for freezing for export ; open to nil Farmers not occupying or owning more than 30(0 acres of land, the Sheep to have been bred and fattened by exhibitor. The Cup will not be awarded unless there be lit len3t tix exhibitors, but it will be available fur the samo object at next year's show. Maximum number of points to bo 18, thus npporHoned. For the best Dray Root-cutting Machine, to do drawn by not more than two horses, the roots to be dropped on the ground cut to size suitable for sheep, certainty of automatic feeding nnd capability o cutting the largest quantity m a given time, to be specially considered, the dray to hold not less than 15ewt of root.*. The Association offer a pvize of £5 for a. Turnip Drill, to sow from 501hs to 2Colbs to an aero of Bone-Dust or Super-phosphate m the same drills, To bow from 60z3 to 21b3 of turnip seed to the u've,. suitable to sow either level or down Jnnils. The Association offer a prize of £3 for the best Automatic Chaff box, for feeding sheep, to hold' not less than ten bags, to be wind nnd water proof, and lo he easily movable. Mr James King offers n. first and second prize of £3 and £2 respectively, for tho best yearling colt or filly, by Quumbv. Mr J. Ballantyne gire* a prize of £2 2s for the best jar of Salt Butter suitable for export. This exhibit same conditions as for Potted Butter, must be left with the Secretary on or before Saturday, September 25th. Mr J. Ballnnl.vno gives a ]>ri?.,5 of £2 2» for the best Cheese suitable for export. Mr A. Cirunt oifers a prize of £2 for the best English Leicester Ewe, with or without lamb at foot. Mr S.
