I (By Telegraph.) i Wellington, Oct. 16. 3 The Caledonian Society hare undertaken y what utmost amounts to the establishment of a University College m Wellington. They r have mivdo arrangements whereby persons r will he able to prepare themselves for the professions, degree examinations, the University 1 and scientific practice of the arts. A numf ber of gentlemen holding high honors have consented to lecture two evenings a week next 9 winter on ten branches of higher knowledge, from Algebra to the theory of music. A la--5 boratorv and apparatus will bo provided nt a . cost, of £30U to £400 to whioli the public f will be asked to contribute. Six months notice 1 is given to enable this money to be raised and i intending students to make necessary prepara- > tiona.
