St. John did a n mile and a half m excellent style m 2min 52{eeCB. Monte Cliruto and Trident finished a spin orer the Derby distance together, the latter moving rather 6tiflly after his work. Islander was m splendid condition, and did the best gallop of the morning, coyering eleven furlongs m 2min 3isecs. 1 (Received 1.30 a.m., Oct. 15th.) In consequonce of a report that a great gallop took place at Caul Geld to-day between Juan, Cain and Little John, a considerable amount of money has been invested on the latter, and lie has been backed down to 6 to 1. About Silver Mine 4 to 1 is taken and offered. On the 6trength of a gallop this morning, Islander has been backed to w in a couple of thousands at 100 to 2 ; he is now quoted at 100 to 3. At. Flemington this morning, come youngsters were out and did good work. Perhaps covered three furlongs m 88sees. Hon. Mr White's Aberdeen and Lava had a spin over D»o furlongs, finishing m lmin 688C9. Merander and, Abydos were sent the same distance, and took a half second longer. Hunting Tower and Oceana were also worked together, finishing five furlongs m lmin 6}oecs.
