(By Telegraph.) (Per the Manapouri at Auckland.) Sydkby, Sept. 30. The Assembly held a lengthened sitting lasting throughout the entire night, the Government pushing through the Estimates. The solution arrived at being that all sheep affected be destroyed, and their owners compensated. Tho Council has postponed the consideration of the Land Tax Bill for a week, members insisting to know definitely the intention of Government m regard to the Income Tax Bill. Tbe question of New Zealand cable rates is being discussed m mercantile circles. The conditions of the Centennial Handicap have been altered to admit of two-year-olds also starting. The question of holding an exhibition m connection with the centennial celebration is again to be brought before the Assembly. Provision is being made for the unemployed by work m the country.
