» (By Teleokaph.) Wellington, Oct. 2. At a meeting of the Wellington Educational Institute to-day, it wns decided to send the following matters down to Christchurch for discussion by the Conference m January next : — (1) Tho establishment of a teachers'pension fund. (2) Revision of the standards with a view to tho reduction of subjects ; tho advisability of clearly defining the powers of Boards and Committees, especially m the appointment of teachers and tho issue of a series of text books m which colonial matter Bhould bo prominent. (3) Tho opening of greater facilities to Maoris for obtaining on university degreo. Messrs Purdie and McMoran wore appointed delegates to tho Conference.
