PRIZES amounting to about £550 will bo given m Pieces of Plate, Medals or Cash j also the following additional prizes : — A Challenge Cup, value 40 Guineas, -will bo given by tho members and friends of tho Association to the largest prize-taker m Breeding Stock — Sheep, Cattle and Ilorscs. Yicc-President, Mr G. H. Rhodes, gives a cup, vnluo £10, for the best horso that has hunted with any recognised pack. The samo to be entered m cither class 151 or 152. Tho Hunt Clubs of South Canterbury give a prize of £5 5s for tho best Light-weight llunter. Mr F. LeCren, on behalf of tho N.Z. L. and M.A. Company, offers a Cup of tho value £10 10s, for the best pen of riot less than twenty (20) Sheep m tho wool, suitable for freezing for export j open to all Farmers not occupying or owning more than 3UUO acres of land, tho Sheep to haTC been bred and fattened by exhibitor. 'Iho Cup will not beawarded unless there be at least cix exhibitors, but it will be available for the same object at next year's show. Maximum number of points to be 18, thus apportioned. Early maturity, G : wool, 6 ; carcase, C. Special entry. The Association offer a prize of £5, m addition to £5 offered by Mr William Balfour. For tho best Dray Root-cutting Machine, to be drawn by not more than two horses, tho roots to bo dropped on the ground cut to sizo suitable for sheep, certainty of automatic feeding, and capability • cutting tho largest quantity m a given time, to be specially considered, the dray to hold not less than loewt of roots. Tho Association offer a prize of £6 for a Turnip Drill, to bow from 501 bs to 2001bs to an aero of Bone-Dust or Super-phosphate m tho same drills, To sow from 6ozs to 2lbs of turnip seed to the acre, suitable to sow cither level or down lands. The Association offer a prize of £3 for the best Automatic Chaff box, for feeding sheep, to hold not less than ten bags, to bo wind and water proof, and to be easily movable Mr James King offers a first and second prize of £3 and £2 respectively, for the best yearliug colt or filly, by Quamby. -% Mr J. BaJlantyne gives a prizo of £2 2s for tho best Jar of Salt Butter suitable for export. This exhibit same conditions as for Potted Butter, must bo left with tho Secretary oo or before Saturday, September 25th. Mr J. Ballantyno gives a prizo of £2 2s for tho best Cheese suitable for export. Mr A. Grant offers a prizo of £2 for the best English Leicester Ewe, with or without Limb at foot. Mr S.
