Sept. 22. Mr D. Stronach reports for the week ended September 22ad, as follows : — FAT CATTLE. 207 head were yarded at Bnrnside to-day for the week's requirements, chiefly medium to primo quality. For tho latter the competition was fairly active and realised prices about eqnal to last week's, while ordinary was somewhat easier. Beat bullocks bronght £'J 10s to 412, medium .£7 to .£9, light woights £i 03 to £$ 103 ; cowa m proportion. PAT SHEEP. lf>7s were penned, of these 230 were merino wethers, good to primo, and t!io balanco erosabreds, nearly all of good to primo quality, bnt scarcely np to last week's weights. Owing 1 to this limited snpply to hand competition was brisk aud an advance of la to Is Gd per head over last week's prices was obtained. Wo qnoto for prime milling, velvet and Tuscan, 4a 9d to 4s 10<], superior lots, a. a shade more, good to prime red wheat 4s 8d to 43 9d, other sorts, fair to good U 6d to i* 7d, ordinary 43 4d to 43 Gd, inferior and fow's wheat 3s 9d to 43 3d (ex store, bng.-i m). Oats. — The market is without chango, many holdors still continuing firm, m expectation of higher prices being asked. Business is consequently restricted, and almost at a standstill. Local millers are buying sparingly, and when m tho market are not disposed to givo 2s 4d for best milling. Cheap freights have boon offering this week, but owing to prices being too high buyers have not been able to operate. Primo milling aro hold for 2s 4d to 2s sd, best bright short feed 2s 3d to 2s 4d, medium 2s Id to 2s lid, inferior Is lOd to 2s, long Tartarian 2a 4d to 2s Sd (ex store, bags m). Barley. — There ia very little business doing. A small demand for malting exists, but without any improvement m prices. We quote prime malting 3s to 3a Id, milling 2s 8d to 23 lOd, feed 2s 5d to 2s 7d (ex storo, bags m).
