CORBBSPONDBNCB wa9 opened ag follows : — From the South Canterbury Board of Education, stating that tho Board could not accede to the committee's request for additional teaching power, tho Btaff being at present m excess of that allowed by the Board's rpgulations. The Board also granted £1 for swinging ropes, shingling &c, on condition of the committee voting a- like amount. The committea agreed to expend £1 accordingly, and Sir Gray was requested to superintend tho erection of the swings. HEADMASTBK'a BBPOBT. Average roll — Bojb, 17875 ; girls, 145 ; total, 32375. Average attendance — Boys, 123-1 j girls, 8975 j total, 212-85. Working attendance)— Bojs, 1372 ; girls, 103<l ; total, 21O"7. Highest attendance — Boys, 146; girls, 113 ; total 259. The headmaster also enclosed cheque foi £3 18a 9d, stationery fees for the current quarter. SCHOOL SUPPLIES. Sundry small stationery supplies were ordered to be supplied, and also some chemicals for the science classes. HALF nOLIDAT. Tho headmaster asked for a half holiday for Wednesday afternoon, to allow of the cadets attending the laying of the foundation stone of tho new drill hull. The committee agreed to grant the request. ACCOUHTS amounting to £5 16s 3d wcro passed for payment, and tho meeting terminated.
