The Melbourne and Sydney Chambers of Commerce are acting m cooperation to offer inducement to their Governments to bring about a resumption of negotiations for the reduction of the cable tariff between Australia and New Zealand. Government have decided to proceed with the Income Tax Bill notwithstanding the amendment which was carried yesterday m the Legislative Assembly reducing the proposed tax from fourpence to one penny m the ponnd.
