(By Telegraph.) Wellington, Sept. 2. Mr F. J. Wilson is appointed solicitor m the Public Trustees office. Lieut. A. Y. Doughis, R.N., is appointed secretary to tho Council of Military Education. The services of the Eiversdale .Rifle Volunteers have been accepted as an honorary corps. STATE FOBEST BEGULATIONS. i ♦ , (By Telegraph.) Wellington, Sept. 2. Eegulations under the JS T ew Zealand State . Forest Act 1885 are gazetted to-night. Clause 4 provides that all timber and other produce within any State forest may be disposed of either by auction, appraisement, or license to fell upon such terms as the Com- | missioner of State Forests shall prescribe, and all monies which shall bo payable for such timber or other produce shall be paid m such manner as the commissioner shall direct. The remaining clauses are penal clauses providing for fines for infringement of the regulations.
