A meeting of tho Amalgamated Iron Workers with the Trades and Labour Council has been held to protest against the action of the City Council m regard to increased pump ing plant for tho waterworks, it being urged that the whole of tho plant required should bo constructed m Auckland so as to provide employment for the foundries lyiug idle.
