POLITICAL ITEMS.

j ■ ' ' ♦ (By Telegraph.) j [from our own correspondent.] [ Wblmngtok, July 27. Tho debate on Mr G. F. Bichardton's amendment is dragging its slow length along. A determined effort will be made to bring it to a close to-night. The House did not adjourn until 5 o'clock this morning, and it was at ono lime thought that the Ministerialists would resist every motion for Adjournment until the question was disposed of. Mr Bolleston made an appeal for an adjournment at half-past two o'clock this morning, but his appeal was drewned with shouts of " No ! no ! Go on with your speech." He had to proceed, and only concluded at 5 o'clock. Sir George Grey then made a pitiable appeal for an adjournment, as he had a long speech to deliver, and it wns only when two Government supporters came to the rescue that Ministers yiolded. The dobate was resumed this afternoon, when a few of the rank and die delivered their long-pent-up speeches, but the more prominent members of the House preferred to hold back till this evening to address the galleries. Sir George Grey made one of his stereotyped speeches concerning tho " unborn millions." He was followed by Mr Bevan, who made quite a dramatic oration, highly eulogising the Ministry and severely censuring the members of the late Government. Mr Bolleston came m for tho lion's share of his remarks, which were of a most scathing character. He reviewed his political career from the Btart to tho present, and be likened tho ox-Miniaters to political Agnows.
