STRANDING OF THE BRIGANTINE ARATAPU.
♦ [By Telegraph.] Gisbobnb, July 26. 'The brigantine Aratapu, Captain H. Bower, 120 tons register, came a*hore last night at six o'clock m the southerly gale. The crew walked ashore at low tide this morning. The vessel is on a sandy beach, and likely to get off m a few days. She belongs to the Auckland Sash and Door Company, and is insured m tbe South British office, but tbe amount is not known, f-he arrived last Tuesday from Newcastle with a cargo of coals consigned to Kennedy and Harris. The coal was nearly all taken out before she came ashore. The cable parted and she drifted on to the beach. No damage is done to her yet.
