Timaru, Herald Office, Friday Evening. PRODUCE MARKETS. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited, report for the week onded 7th inat as follows :— . No change of importance can ho noted in tho grain market, and values all ronnd romain mnoh tho samo as last week. In wheat, local millers nro stUl well supplied, and comparatively littlo is being placed for oxport. Oats have seen somo activity, tho demand being chiefly for short bright feed, for whioh top rates aro given. During tho week wo havo placed ono or two lines at quotations. In barloy, thero is nothing doing, and quotations romain nominal. Enquiries aro coming forward for prime Derwont potatoes, but bnsinoss in these is restricted, owing to the lato wet weather having delayed deliveries. Bnttor—Advices from Sydney are not oncouraging, and tho export demand is Bomewhat easier. Aa, howover, tho weather becomes • colder, prices should again recover. The following is tho Chriatch urch Corn Exohonge roport for tho week ended Friday, the 7th inst. : — The unusual inclemency of tho weather dnring tho past weok has entirely stopped deliveries from tho conntry districts^ Transactions, consequently, have been chiefly confined to storo lines and parcels in transit. Whoat deliveries aro falling off considerably, and prices aro fairly well maintained. Oats aro offoring rather moro freely, and sales are frequent at quoted ratos. Barley has had a rather better week for extra prima malting, but second quality parcels aro still very dull. Feod, however, has a strong enquiry. Beans and peas havo an average passing business. Ryegrass and cocksfoot are almost ontirely neglected, and sales aro seldom recorded. Derwent potatoes aro onquirod for, but owing to tho lato rains putting a stop to digging operations, littlo business has transpirod. Fears aro entertained among growers that thero will bo a considerable quantity perish in tho low-lying lands. Dairy produco has a slack trade, Sydnoy advices being against sollers for tho moment. Still, buyers aro fairly sanguine as to prices m tho future, consequently quotations romain at thoso of last weok.
